Primary Care & Health Systems Research Program

Program Lead: Liisa Jaakkimainen
Program Coordinator:

The Primary Care and Health Systems Research Program investigates the accessibility, timeliness and effectiveness of the primary and acute care systems. Researchers across Ontario are examining the performance of primary care reform models, the use of electronic medical records for research and the effectiveness of quality improvement strategies in acute care settings. We have developed analytic methods to examine injury, evaluate chronic disease management within primary care, measure the coordination of care and wait times across the health care system, and identify health team structures that support quality primary care.
