Heart & Stroke National New Investigator Award

2024: Awarded to Drs. Manav Vyas and Raed Joundi for demonstrating excellence in their doctoral/postdoctoral training.

Order of Canada

2024: Dr. Rabeneck was appointed for her leadership in colorectal cancer screening and prevention. She led the roll-out of ColonCancerCheck, the first province-wide colorectal cancer screening program in the country. The success of it influenced the development of similar programs across Canada and internationally.

CIHR-ICRH/CCCS Distinguished Lecturer Award in Critical Care Sciences

2024: Awarded to Dr. Dennis Ko for his contributions in advancing cardiovascular sciences in Canada and internationally.

Canada’s Drug Agency 35th Anniversary Medal

2024: Awarded to Dr. Muhammad Mamdani by CDA. The medal marks the 35th anniversary of CDA. These 10 medals recognize individuals whose commitment and dedication have helped maintain health technology assessment as a vital component of Canada’s health systems.

Dr. Maurice McGregor Award for a Rising Star in Health Technology Assessment

2024: Awarded to Dr. Mina Tadrous by CDA. The award recognizes rising stars in HTA who, as their careers develop, have the potential to be leaders in the field.

CIHR Health System Impact Program Early Career Researcher Award

2024-28: Awarded to Dr. Danielle Nash by CIHR-IHSPR. The award enables Dr. Nash to collaborate with the Ontario Renal Network to conduct research focusing on improving the quality of care for patients living with chronic kidney disease and to advance the Ontario Renal Network’s learning health system.

Victor Marchessault Advocacy Award

2024: Awarded to Dr. Natasha Saunders by the Canadian Paediatric Society. The award honours individuals or organizations who have made outstanding contributions to Canada’s children and youth at the local, provincial, or national level.

American Thoracic Society Lifetime Achievement Award

2024: Awarded to Dr. Andrea Gershon. The award recognizes an individual who has made outstanding scientific contributions in research methodologies that can be applied to lung diseases, critical illness, or sleep disorders.
