Stephen Hwang is a practicing physician in general internal medicine at St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto. He is the director of the Centre for Urban Health Solutions, Li Ka Shing Knowledge Institute, St. Michael's Hospital, and the Chair in Homelessness, Housing, and Health at St. Michael's Hospital and the University of Toronto. Dr. Hwang's research studies have focused on health conditions and access to healthcare among people experiencing homelessness, the connections between housing and health, and interventions to improve the health of people who are homeless. He is an associate professor of medicine and director of the Division of General Internal Medicine at the University of Toronto. Dr. Hwang received his medical degree from the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and his master's degree from the Harvard School of Public Health.
