CIHR Research Fellowship Award

2011 — Awarded to Jacob Udell

Mid-Career Investigator Heart and Stroke Foundation, Ontario

2013 – 2017: Awarded to Dr. David Alter over four years. The research topic is "Characterizing the adherence phenotypes of populations with cardiovascular disease: Applications for health services research and interventions."

Clinician Scientist Award, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada (Ontario)

2013: Dr. Dennis Ko was awarded a three year Phase II Clinician Scientist Award, by the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada , Ontario branch. Dr. Ko's research title is "Improve the quality and outcomes of care of patients with cardiovascular diseases."

Heart and Stroke Foundation Career Investigator Award

Peter Austin is the recipient of a 2013 Heart and Stroke Foundation Career Investigator Award. Peter is developing statistical tools to help cardiovascular researchers. 2013: Awarded to Sacha Bhatia for "An educational intervention reduces the rate of inappropriate transthoracic echocardiograms in ambulatory care"

Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada Personnel Award Competition New Investigator Awards

2013: Barnett Scholarship awarded to Dr. Clare Atzema for Atrial fibrillation in the emergency room, the AFTER study.

2013-2014 Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada Personnel Award Competition, Distinguished Clinician Scientist

2013 – 2014: Awarded to Dr. Harindra Wijeysundera by the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada for Evaluating therapeutic decision making, outcomes and resource utilization in chronic stable angina, an interprovincial population-based study.

Heart and Stroke Foundation Grant-In-Aid Competition

2013: Awarded to Dr. Clare Atzema for Follow-up care after a visit to the emergency department: assessing the frequency and timeliness in patients with chronic cardiovascular diseases.
