2016 – 2020: Awarded to Dr. Douglas Lee for Program of Research on Outcomes, Treatment, and Evaluation of Care in the Spectrum of HF (PROTECT-HF).
2015: Dr. David Alter's paper "Sedentary time and its association with risk for disease incidence, mortality, and hospitalization in adults: a systematic review and meta-analysis" was selected as one of the top ten most high-impact papers of 2015 by the Lifestyle and Cardiometabolic Health Council of the American Heart Association. This award acknowledges research that supports the Lifestyle and Cardiometabolic Health Council’s mission to improve cardiovascular health across the lifespan.
2016: Dr. Peter Austin was selected by Thomson Reuters as one the "World’s Most Influential Scientific Minds 2015." This annual list names researchers whose published work is among the most-cited within the global scientific community, according to data analyzed by Thomson Reuters.
2015: Awarded to Dr. Dennis Ko by the Sunnybrook Department of Medicine. The award is presented to a faculty member appointed over five years and has made a contribution to basic science, clinical epidemiology, health services or education research.
2015 — Presented to Dr. Moira Kapral. The purpose of the award is to stimulate writing and publishing by graduates from the Institute and provide recognition to those graduates who publish superior articles each year.
2015: Dr. Chris Simpson included in the Medical Post's "Power List" of the 30 most powerful physicians in Canada, identified through a survey of their peers. The list was included in the 50th anniversary issue of the journal published in September.
2015: Dr. Chris Simpson named 2015 Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences. Election to fellowship in the Academy is considered one of the highest honours in the Canadian health sciences community.
2015: Dr. Andreas Laupacis included in the Medical Post's "Power List" of the 30 most powerful physicians in Canada, identified through a survey of their peers. The list was included in the 50th anniversary issue of the journal published in September.
2015: Awarded to Dr. Peter Austin. About three thousand researchers earned this distinction by writing the greatest number of reports officially designated by Essential Science Indicators as Highly Cited Papers — ranking among the top 1% most cited for their subject field and year of publication, earning them the mark of exceptional impact.
