ICES brings together the best and brightest scientific talent. Many of our scientists are internationally recognized in their fields and receive national and international awards and recognition for their important work.
2015: Awarded to Dr. Dennis Ko by the Sunnybrook Department of Medicine. The award is presented to a faculty member appointed over five years and has made a contribution to basic science, clinical epidemiology, health services or education research.
2015: Awarded to Dr. Geoffrey Nguyen. This award recognizes outstanding contributions to gastroenterology through basic and/or clinical research by a young investigator.
2016: Dr. David Naylor is being recognized for his visionary contributions to health research, education, administration, and policy. He will be formally inducted to the hall in a ceremony at McMaster University on April 14, 2016.
2015: Dr. Janet Smylie recognized by The College of Family Physicians of Canada for her work with, and personal investment in, the healthcare of Indigenous communities in Canada.
2015: Dr. Moira Stewart recognized by The College of Family Physicians of Canada for her contribution as an epidemiologist with quantitative research expertise.
2015: Dr. Ross Upshur recognized by The College of Family Physicians of Canada for his research in public health and his use of a variety of research methodologies and approaches from a broad range of disciplines.
2015 — Presented to Dr. Moira Kapral. The purpose of the award is to stimulate writing and publishing by graduates from the Institute and provide recognition to those graduates who publish superior articles each year.
2015: Dr. Rick Glazier recognized by The College of Family Physicians of Canada for his work using health administrative data at the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences (ICES).
2015: Awarded to Dr. Stephen Hwang by the Canadian Society of Internal Medicine (CSIM) for excellence in research by a senior Canadian general internist.
2015: Dr. David Naylor included in the Medical Post's "Power List" of the 30 most powerful physicians in Canada, identified through a survey of their peers. The list was included in the 50th anniversary issue of the journal published in September.
