Congratulations to ICES scientists Manav Vyas and Raed Joundi on being awarded National New Investigator Awards from Heart & Stroke for their research titled ‘Improving Stroke Prevention in Immigrants (I-SPI)’ and ‘Unraveling the key determinants of post-stroke cognitive impairment and dementia,’ respectively. The award recognizes investigators for their excellence in their doctoral/postdoctoral training and provides an incentive for researchers to continue or begin their program of cardiovascular or cerebrovascular research within Canada.
