ICES scientist Dr. Mona Loutfy awarded for excellence in HIV/AIDS research
Congratulations to ICES adjunct scientist Dr. Mona Loutfy, who received an award for research excellence and her commitment to improving the lives of those with HIV and those at risk. The Canadian Association for HIV Research (CAHR) and the Canadian Foundation for AIDS Research (CANFAR) presented Dr. Loutfy with the CAHR – CANFAR Excellence in Research Award at the 26th Annual Canadian Conference on HIV/AIDS Research, held April 6-9 in Montreal. The award celebrates the contributions of mid-career researchers to HIV/AIDS research in Canada and across the world.
Dr. Loutfy’s research is focused on women and HIV with a particular focus on pre-conception, pregnancy, parenthood, access to care, stigma and sexual health. She is also an associate professor at the University of Toronto and a clinician scientist at Women's College Hospital.
