Biography

Dr. Peter Gill is a general paediatrician and a senior scientist at the SickKids Research Institute, an associate professor in the Department of Paediatrics and Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation, University of Toronto, and a senior associate at the Centre for Evidence-Based Medicine, University of Oxford. He is the co-founder and Chair of the Canadian Paediatric Inpatient Research Network (PIRN), which is focused on generating research evidence to improve outcomes of hospitalized children in general pediatric settings, and co-leads GEMINI-Paediatrics. Dr. Gill’s patient-oriented research program focuses on improving the care and outcomes for hospitalized children on the general paediatric ward. His research has advanced the care and management of common and serious childhood infections, such as bronchiolitis and orbital cellulitis. Dr. Gill’s research also aims to partner with patients to improve care and outcomes, including co-leading studies with parent and youth partners.
