2017: Awarded to Dr. Tetyana Kendzerska for the project "Effectiveness and safety of inhaled corticosteroids in elderly individuals with chronic obstructive airway diseases: a population-based study." This award is offered in partnership with the CIHR Institute of Circulatory and Respiratory Health.

2016: Dr. Jeremy Grimshaw was selected by Thomson Reuters as one the "World’s Most Influential Scientific Minds 2015." This annual list names researchers whose published work is among the most-cited within the global scientific community, according to data analyzed by Thomson Reuters.

New Investigator in Population Health and Health System Innovation Award

2016 – 2019: Dr. Peter Tanuseputro is the recipient of this $300,000 salary support award offered jointly by the Bruyere Research Institute and the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute.

CIHR Canada Research Chair

2016: Awarded to Dr. Jeremy Grimshaw for health knowledge transfer and uptake (renewal).

Senior Research Chair, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry

2016: Awarded to Dr. William Gardner at the University of Ottawa.

Crohn’s and Colitis Canada Rising Star Award

2015: Awarded to Dr. Eric Benchimol. The award acknowledges the basic or clinical research accomplishments of a junior/newly emerging investigator in the field of inflammatory bowel disease, within 5 years of their first faculty appointment.

Lifetime Achievement Award in Family Medicine Research

2015: Awarded to Dr. William Hogg by The College of Family Physicians of Canada. The award honours individuals who are trailblazers and leaders in family medicine research.
