Chair’s Award for Outstanding Research Potential

2019-2020: Chair’s Award for Outstanding Research Potential, Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, University of Toronto, awarded to Dr. Genevieve Bouchard-Fortier for demonstrating outstanding dedication, ability and research potential in the field of obstetrics and gynaecology.

Merit Award

2023-25: Merit Award, Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine, University of Toronto, awarded to Dr. Ashwin Sankar. The Merit Awards Program supports the development of talented investigators and fosters the sustained growth of research capacity in the department. The program’s goal is to promote discoveries that will improve the lives of our patients.

IDEG Harry Keen Memorial Award

2025: Awarded to Dr. Calvin Ke by the International Diabetes Epidemiology Group (IDEG) for his significant contributions to the field of diabetes epidemiology, recognizing him as a leader in the field.

Junior Research Chair in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario Research Institute and University of Ottawa

2024: Dr. Tea Rosic will help build capacity for research in clinical psychiatry or mental
health services within the CPA, the CHEO Research Institute and the Faculty of Medicine.

University of Toronto Academic Scholar Award, 2024-2029

2024: Awarded to Dr. June Lam by the University of Toronto. The University of Toronto’s Department of Psychiatry grants merit-based awards to support the professional development of full-time faculty members of the department. The priority will be to support early-career and mid-career faculty members so that they can progress towards attaining academic promotion.

CIHR-ICRH/CCCS Distinguished Lecturer Award in Critical Care Sciences

2024: Awarded to Dr. Robert Fowler for his outstanding contribution to the advancement of critical care sciences in Canada.

The Medical Post Interprofessional Team Award

National recognition of the Ottawa Hospital Living Kidney Donor Team for innovation and excellent patient care.

The Anne and Neil McArthur Research Award, 2024

2024: Awarded to Dr. Lawrence Mbuagbaw. The Anne and Neil McArthur Research Award recognizes exceptional contributions to health research that advance knowledge, improve patient care, and demonstrate leadership and innovation in addressing critical health challenges.

Clarivate Analytics Highly Cited Researchers 2024

2024: Dr. Peter Austin was selected by Clarivate Analytics as one the most highly cited researchers of 2024. Each selected researcher has authored highly cited papers that rank in the top 1 per cent by citations for their field and publication year. This is the tenth consecutive year for Dr. Austin to be honoured.

Canadian Society of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery Fellowship Grant, 2024

2024: Awarded to Dr. Christopher Noel. The award supports advanced fellowship training and research in head and neck oncologic and reconstructive surgery.
