Summary: There is growing interest in transforming Ontario’s correctional system by using data on the health status of those detained or incarcerated in provincial facilities to better understand their healthcare needs. The request details healthcare status, presence of substance use disorders, communicable diseases, mental illness and healthcare utilization. The findings will be used to inform policy and planning and the development and evaluation of better models of care in these contexts.
