Simone Vigod is chief of psychiatry at Women's College Hospital. In addition, she is a scientist at Women's College Research Institute. She is a professor in the Department of Psychiatry and the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation at the University of Toronto, and an adjunct scientist at ICES. She obtained her medical degree from the University of Toronto in 2003, and completed her residency in psychiatry in Toronto in 2009. Having obtained a master's degree in clinical epidemiology in 2011, Dr. Vigod has built a successful research program focusing on epidemiology and health services research relevant to women and men with mental health issues across the lifespan. Her work at ICES focuses on identifying health disparities and pathways of intervention for individuals, particularly women, with mental illness.
