Ontario HIV Treatment Network Cohort Study Chair, 2025-29

2025: Awarded to Dr. Lawrence Mbuagbaw. The OCS Chair Award recognizes and supports a leading researcher to provide strategic scientific leadership, strengthen collaboration, and advance community-engaged HIV research within the Ontario HIV Treatment Network Cohort Study.

CAHR-CANFAR Excellence in Research Award, 2025

2025: Awarded to Dr. Lawrence Mbuagbaw. The CAHR–CANFAR Excellence in Research Award recognizes outstanding contributions to HIV research in Canada, honouring individuals whose innovative, high-impact work has advanced scientific knowledge, improved care and outcomes for people living with HIV, and strengthened the national HIV research community.

The Anne and Neil McArthur Research Award, 2024

2024: Awarded to Dr. Lawrence Mbuagbaw. The Anne and Neil McArthur Research Award recognizes exceptional contributions to health research that advance knowledge, improve patient care, and demonstrate leadership and innovation in addressing critical health challenges.

CSIM New Investigator Award

2023: Awarded to Dr. Amol Verma by the Canadian Society of Internal Medicine in recognition of excellence in the field of internal medicine research by a new investigator.

Royal Society of Canada College Member

2022: Awarded to Dr. Sharmistha Mishra. Members are mid-career leaders who provide the Royal Society of Canada with a multigenerational capacity to help Canada and the world address major challenges and seize new opportunities including those identified in emerging fields.

CIHR Fellowship

2022: Awarded to Dr. Andrew Mendlowitz. The award provides support for highly qualified candidates at the postdoctoral (post-PhD) or post-health professional degree stages to add to their experience by engaging in health research.
