On April 19 the International Journal of Population Data Science (IJPDS) was launched. IJPDS is an open-access, peer-reviewed journal that will publish articles “on all aspects of research, development and evaluation connected with data about people and populations.” The creation of the IJPDS was inspired by the International Population Data Linkage Network (IPDLN). The journal has a regular section for topics of particular interest to the IPDLN sub-edited by the director(s) of the network. The inaugural edition features an editorial by Dr. Michael Schull, ICES CEO, and Dr. William Ghali, director of the O'Brien Institute for Public Health, on the opportunities inherent in the growing network.
About the IPDLN
Now with 400 members and growing, the IPDLN facilitates communication between international research centres that specialize in data linkage and users of linked data. ICES and the O’Brien Institute assumed co-directorship of the IPDLN for 2017-2018.
IPDLN 2018 Conference
Every two years, the IPDLN leads an international conference. The next conference will be held in September 2018 at the Banff Centre, located in Banff National Park in Alberta, Canada. The overall conference themes will build on previous work by IPDLN as well as relevant emerging health data linkage areas.
