Biography

Kate Nelson is a staff pediatrician on the Paediatric Advanced Care Team (PACT) and a scientist-track researcher at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. Kate completed undergraduate degrees in English and chemistry at the University of Missouri-Columbia and received her medical degree from Harvard. Following a general pediatrics residency at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, she completed a fellowship in pediatric palliative care at Children's Hospital Boston. She recently completed her PhD in clinical epidemiology at the University of Toronto. Her research interests are in supporting family decision-making for children with potentially life-limiting illnesses.
