Description: The project team will look into the unique way in which the herpes zoster vaccine was rolled out in Canada for a quasi-experiment. In this study, the team will exploit the introduction of this program in Ontario and use quasi-experimental approaches to estimate the causal effect of being eligible for the vaccine based on one’s month of birth on the incidence of dementia. The aim of the study is, thus, to determine the effect of being eligible for free herpes zoster vaccination on the incidence of new dementia diagnoses.The objective of this research is to estimate the causal effect of being eligible for free herpes zoster vaccination based on one’s month of birth on the incidence of dementia.
