Description: GLP-1R has anti-inflammatory effects in several organs, suggesting that it may be also useful in the treatment of inflammatory diseases. Inflammation is a common element in AMD pathogenesis, thus, in this study, the project team intends to utilize a large, population-based database to evaluate the protective effect of GLP-1R Agonist on AMD pathogenesis compared to controls. Further, the team aims to evaluate the association of retinal detachment with other systemic medications with controversy effect on AMD pathogenesis.
