Adjunct Scientist ICES Western Cancer Research Program
Dr. Jacques Raphael is a medical oncologist at the London Regional Cancer Program and an associate scientist at the Lawson Health Research Institute. He is appointed as an assistant professor within the Department of Oncology at Western University. He has been with the Department of Oncology in London since 2017 after completing a translational research fellowship within the thoracic oncology department at the Gustave Roussy Cancer Campus and a postdoctoral fellowship in lung and breast tumors at Sunnybrook Odette Cancer Centre. He holds an MD from Saint Joseph University and a master’s degree in science (epidemiology) from the University of Toronto. He is also an ICES Faculty Scholar. He is an investigator for many national and international clinical trials in breast and lung cancer. Dr. Raphael has an interest and experience in leading and conducting biomarker studies to identify and validate blood-based and tumor markers and he also has interest in conducting health services research, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses. He has been the recipient of many awards, including the ASCO Merit Award, NOYCIA award and the ESMO Young Investigator Award.
