Queen’s and ICES partner to expand research capacity in Ontario

WHAT: The province’s first satellite unit of the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences (ICES) is being established at Queen’s University. An independent, non-profit organization, ICES conducts research to improve healthcare and health services across Ontario. Areas of focus at Queen’s will include cancer, pharmacological studies and dementia.

Housed in Abramsky Hall, the ICES-Queen’s Health Services Research Facility will provide data access to health services research scientists at Queen’s, and encourage collaborations with the larger ICES scientific community.

WHO: David Walker, dean, Faculty of Health Sciences and David Henry, president and CEO, ICES will officially open the new quarters. Patti Groome, site director of the ICES-Queen’s Health Services Research Facility will provide some background and thank those who contributed to the creation of the facility.
