ICES scientist Dr. Robert Fowler recipient of Teasdale-Corti Humanitarian Award from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada

Congratulations to ICES adjunct scientist Dr. Robert Fowler who is the 2017 recipient of the Teasdale-Corti Humanitarian Award from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

The award recognizes Canadian physicians who provide healthcare and emergency medical services beyond routine practice to exemplify "altruism and integrity, courage and perseverance in the alleviation of human suffering."

Dr. Fowler is receiving the award for his work in West Africa during the 2014 Ebola outbreak.

Dr. Fowler's research interests at ICES include intensive care medicine, palliative care, and equity in healthcare.
