Alison Macpherson

Senior Adjunct Scientist (Full Status) ICES Central Populations & Public Health Research Program

Biography

Alison Macpherson is a professor in the School of Kinesiology and Health Sciences at York University. Her research interests include prevention of childhood injuries in mainstream, First Nations, and Inuit children, and pediatric health services research. She is a scientific consultant to Safe Kids Canada and a member of the board of directors of the ThinkFirst Foundation of Canada. She is an associate member of the LaMarsh Centre for Child and Youth Research, and an editorial board member of the journal Injury Prevention.

Dr. Macpherson holds a Master's degree in epidemiology and biostatistics from McGill University and a Doctorate from the University of Toronto's Institute for Medical Science. She joined ICES in 2002 as a postdoctoral fellow and became an adjunct scientist in 2005 and a senior adjunct scientist in 2017.
