Biography

Dr. Lega is an adjunct scientist at ICES, an assistant professor in the Department of Medicine at University of Toronto, a staff physician in the Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism at Women’s College Hospital and a research scientist at Women’s College Research Institute. After completing her MD at the University of Western Ontario, Dr. Lega completed postgraduate training in internal medicine and endocrinology at McGill University. She then earned a Master’s degree in clinical epidemiology from the University of Toronto. Dr. Lega’s research focuses on studying the complex relationship between diabetes and cancer. She is also interested in diabetes management and over treatment in the elderly.
