Hilary Brown is an assistant professor at the University of Toronto, in the Interdisciplinary Centre for Health and Society at the University of Toronto Scarborough, the Dalla Lana School of Public Health, and the Department of Psychiatry, and is an adjunct scientist at Women’s College Research Institute, Women’s College Hospital. She holds a PhD in epidemiology and biostatistics from the University of Western Ontario and an MSc in community health and epidemiology from Queen’s University. She also completed a CIHR Postdoctoral Fellowship at Women’s College Research Institute and the University of Toronto Department of Psychiatry.
Dr. Brown’s research interests lie at the intersection of maternal and child health and chronic disease epidemiology. She is particularly interested in the influence of maternal chronic medical conditions and maternal disabilities on prenatal, fetal/neonatal, and postnatal health and in the use of quantitative methods to disentangle biological and social determinants of these outcomes. Dr. Brown currently holds funding from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, the Connaught Fund, and Women’s Xchange.
