Early discharge following ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI)

Description: Patients who had a diagnosis of STEMI and survived to hospital discharge following primary PCI will be included in this study. The aim is to split the study population into 3 groups: patients discharged on an ED pathway (ED group), a control group (discharge between 48- and 72-hour) and a standard care group (patients who were discharged home on normal pathways and not meeting ED criteria during the same period of time as the ED group pathway). For the safety component, the project team will assess mortality rates at 30 days and its causes, as well as readmission rates, an important quality-of-care indicator and metric, with timing and causes (cardiac vs non-cardiac.)
