Project title: Impact of virtual oncologic visit on ED Utilization or hospitalization in patients with advanced cutaneous melanoma
Principle Investigator: Baskoro Adi Kartolo
Description: The COVID-19 pandemic has altered cancer care delivery, resulting in the quick adoption of virtual care. This led to the published clinical guidance for person-centered virtual cancer care by the Cancer Care Ontario, aimed to serve as a framework for good clinical practice. Nevertheless, concerns were raised regarding safety of virtual care, as opposed to the traditional in-person cancer care. In using provincial large population database at IC/ES, the project team aims to evaluate the safety of virtual oncology care on high risk patients with advanced cutaneous melanoma on intensive systemic therapy.
