Summary
Project ID: 2021-886/ TRIM 2024 0970 376 000
Principle Investigator: Sheila O’Brien
Description: Since May 2020 Canadian Blood Services has tested residual blood samples from blood donors for SARS-CoV-2 antibodies. Over 250,000 samples have been tested across Canada, of which about 100,000 are from Ontario. This work is funded by the COVID-19 Immunity Task Force (CITF). Reports are prepared each month and distributed by the CITF who then distribute to PHAC and other public health departments. Data are used to inform public health policy and for mathematical modelling. The project team would like to add vaccination history to the donor dataset in order to interpret and monitor the relationship between vacination history and antibody response. This will involve probablistic linkage using donor name and date of birth.
