Using data from the Canadian Community Health Survey and the Public Accounts of Ontario, this study estimates historic and projected smoking-attributable expenditures on hospital care, community care and prescription drugs in Ontario from 2003 to 2041. Patterns of smoking prevalence are presented by sex, birth cohort, education level and smoking status.
