ICES releases report on COVID-19 in immigrants, refugees and other newcomers in Ontario
COVID-19 infections have taken a disproportionate toll on immigrants and some racialized populations in several countries, including Canada. The pandemic has sharpened the focus on structural and societal inequalities that have long existed; these inequities put many racialized and immigrant populations at higher risk of both contracting the infection and suffering poor outcomes. This report focuses on patterns of testing and test results for immigrants and refugees from the initial phases of COVID-19 testing through to June 13, 2020.
