Biography

Dr. Gupta received his MD from the University of Toronto, trained in pediatrics and pediatric hematology/oncology at the Hospital for Sick Children, and then pursued a PhD in Clinical Epidemiology at the University of Toronto. His main research interest lies in identifying and addressing health disparities among children with cancer. To do so, he uses health administrative and other population-based databases to study vulnerable pediatric oncology populations, such as adolescents and young adults (AYA) or children of low socioeconomic status. Internationally he also engages in research and policy activities aimed at improving the outcome of children with cancer in low- and middle-income countries, collaborating with organizations such as the WHO and the International Union Against Cancer (UICC).
