Serene Kerpan is an assistant professor at University of Ontario Institute of Technology in the Faculty of Health Sciences. Dr. Kerpan’s research focuses on the health and educational success of young children. Through community-engaged scholarship she cultivates strong relationships with Indigenous schools and communities to investigate topics that are meaningful to the communities she partners with. Dr. Kerpan’s current research is examining prenatal opioid exposure through participatory action research, in addition to research on the promotion of physical activity for enhanced cognition.
