Lori Ferris

Biography

Dr. Ferris has been with ICES since 1993, has been a senior scientist since 1995 and affiliate scientist since 2018. Dr. Ferris brings a wealth of experience to her health research, consulting and teaching. Her primary appointment is as a professor in the Dalla Lana Faculty of Public Health at the University of Toronto where she has tenure. In addition to her research and teaching, is the associate vice-president for research, oversight and compliance at the University of Toronto. Dr. Ferris currently chairs the World Association of Medical Editors' (WAME) Ethics and Policy Committee. Dr. Ferris is also on the editorial board for Medicine and Law; International Journal of Occupational and Environmental Medicine; and Risk Management in Canadian Healthcare.

2012 – 2015: Dr. Lori Ferris has been selected by the Nominating Committee and Executive Board of the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME) to serve as the incoming Vice-President/President-Elect of WAME. WAME is a non-profit voluntary association with 1710 members representing more than 980 journals for 92 countries. She will serve as Vice-President until December 31, 2013, and President from January 1, 2014, to December 31, 2015.
