ICES receives RBC Foundation grant to strengthen research capacity of Indigenous communities for third straight year

Share

ICES is thrilled to accept a $75,000 one-year RBC Foundation grant for its work to help Indigenous communities increase their research capacity. ICES also received RBC Foundation grants for this work in 2022 and 2021.

The funds will be used to support ICES’ efforts towards capacity strengthening in Indigenous communities. This includes work through the ICES’ Indigenous Health Data Training Program which was launched in 2019 to promote an understanding of how ICES data can be used to answer health questions and support Indigenous participants in conveying research findings back to their communities and organizations.

The 2023 funding will allow ICES to create content for and deliver workshop sessions on health services data and deliver more advanced materials for those wanting to enhance their skillsets. As well, ICES will develop core reference materials to give participants ongoing access to educational materials to support their learning.
