The ICES community is deeply saddened by the news of the death of Dr. Jack Tu. Jack was an internationally renowned researcher, an outstanding leader, mentor and colleague at ICES, and a friend to many within the organization. He led the cardiac program at ICES from its beginning, and it became enormously successful under his leadership.
Like many of you, I loved working with Jack, and I admired him deeply. He was dedicated, hard-working, innovative, and brilliant, and even as his personal success and reputation grew he remained humble and generous and was always a team player. Most importantly, he was a loving husband and father.
Jack will be sorely missed.
