ICES adjunct scientist Dr. Jacob Udell selected for Heart and Stroke Foundation’s National New Investigator and Ontario Clinician-Scientist awards

Please join us in congratulating ICES adjunct scientist Dr. Jacob Udell, who received the National New Investigator and Ontario Clinician-Scientist awards from the Heart and Stroke Foundation, in addition to the Foundation’s Emerging Research Leaders Initiative (ELRI) grant.

The National New Investigator Award recognizes investigators who have demonstrated excellence in their doctoral training, and provides salary support to those who want to create their own research laboratory. The Ontario Clinician-Scientist Award is awarded to clinician-scientists who have proven the ability to develop impactful research related to cardiovascular/cerebrovascular disease, and the ELRI grant supports emerging research leaders early in their careers.

Dr. Udell’s research at ICES is focused on novel cardiovascular risk factor identification and strategies to reduce risk, such as influenza vaccination, as well as unique risk factors in women.
