Building Ontario’s Next-Generation Smart Cities Through Data Governance. Part 1: Health Data Safe Haven

Share

How do we build smart cities that enable strong decision-making while securing the privacy of individual data?

Compute Ontario and ORION, with support from the Government of Ontario, have produced a series of reports that examine data governance models and principles and put forth data-driven recommendations to improve the health and well-being of the province’s citizens.

In part 1 of the series, an ICES project team examines the advantages and disadvantages of the data trust model and explores how ICES could allow a broader group of users to access personal health information while maintaining strong privacy and security protections under the umbrella of a data governance and ethical use framework.

Visit the Compute Ontario website to download the report.
