Biography

Dr. Alanna Weisman is an assistant professor in the Faculty of Medicine at the Universty of Toronto, endocrinologist at Sinai Health System and University Health Network, and clinician scientist at Lunenfeld-Tanenbaum Research Institute. Her research employs epidemiological and health services research methods to study determinants of outcomes in type 1 diabetes, using large data sources such as administrative healthcare and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) databases. Dr. Weisman received fellowship funding from CIHR, Banting & Best Diabetes Centre, Diabetes Canada, JDRF Canada, and the Canadian Society of Endocrinology & Metabolism, and is the recipient of the Banting & Best Diabetes Centre New Investigator Award in 2020.
