Investigation of patient- and system-level characteristics that impact admission rates of ED patients in Northeastern Ontario
Summary
Internal data suggests that the hospitalization rate among patients seen in the emergency department (ED) at Health Sciences North is approximately 3% higher than the provincial average (18% vs. 15%). This AHRQ project proposes to compare and constrast the ED population of HSN versus other similar institutions in Ontario to aid decision-making of the executive team.
