Summary
The knowledge user requests information on the types and locations of health care services accessed by children and youth in the North East LHIN with a view to developing enhanced services and access to care for this population. This research question stems from evidence of stress that children and families undergo when they travel out of their home region to receive specialized health care services. Not only will enhanced services relieve some of this burden on the patients, but also free up capacity at other medical facilities. The data collected will be used as part of a larger initiative to improve access to care in the North East LHIN.
