Project ID: 2021-870/ TRIM 2022 0970 299 000
Principal Investigator: Raj Tiwari
Description: Prostate cancer (PC) is the most common non-cutaneous cancer in Canadian men and third most common cause of death in males accounting for 10% of all male cancer deaths. Studies have shown that use of commonly prescribed medications is associated with improved survival in PC. This study aims to understand the impact of proton pump inhibitors in men older than 66 years who have had a negative prostate biopsy on outcomes mentioned above. Understanding the role of PC prevention by those medications could be highly significant for primary prevention strategies for PC.
