Research Question\/Objectives:<\/strong> There is a need to understand the continued burden of COVID-19 in high-risk immunocompromised patients in Canada. Results will contribute to better understanding of the burden in the wider scientific community, and provide inputs to economic analyses considered by decision-makers in Canada.<\/p>\n

Primary:<\/strong>
\n1) To describe the burden of illness (BOI), resource utilization (RU) and healthcare costs among patients who are immunocompromised and non-immunocompromised, hospitalized with COVID-19, by COVID-19 vaccination status and COVID-19 wave.<\/p>\n

Secondary:<\/strong>
\n1) To compare BOI, RU and healthcare costs among immunocompromised vs non-immunocompromised patients hospitalized with COVID-19, by COVID-19 vaccination status and COVID-19 wave.<\/p>\n

Exploratory, if feasible:<\/strong>
\n1) explore size of the population with immunocompromising conditions in Ontario overall and per condition;
\n2) explore documented attack rate of COVID-19 among immunocompromised patients by COVID-19 vaccination status and COVID-19 wave;
\n3) explore RU and BOI among patients hospitalized with COVID-19 by IC condition;
\n4) explore RU and BOI among patients hospitalized with COVID-19 living in long-term care (LTC)<\/p>\n
