Dr. Gina Agarwal is a professor at McMaster University in the Departments of Family Medicine and Health Research Methods, Evidence and Impact and an associate professor in the Department of Health and Aging. She is a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Vulnerable Individuals in Primary Care. She is a practising family physician, primary care epidemiologist, and the McMaster Family Medicine Levitt Scholar. She has long-standing expertise in health equity, primary care, and community\u2011engaged research with marginalized populations. She has authored several ground-breaking papers linking her Social-Housing of Ontario Cohort of social housing residents in Ontario (the SHO Cohort), to health administrative data using novel techniques with seminal findings. As the Director of the Vulnerable Individuals in Primary Care (VIP) Research Lab, and of the Community Paramedicine at Clinic (CP@clinic) Program, she focuses on improving primary health care access for vulnerable populations, ensuring people in need receive appropriate care at the right time and in the right place. She is the NPA of several National and Global Health projects, all involving community primary care enhancements and task-shifting to prevent NCDs.<\/p>\n
