Dr. Christopher Noel is a surgeon-scientist and assistant professor in the Department of Otolaryngology \u2013 Head & Neck Surgery at the University Health Network and the University of Toronto. He completed his medical degree and residency in otolaryngology \u2013 head & neck surgery at the University of Toronto, followed by fellowship training in head and neck oncologic and reconstructive surgery at The Ohio State University. He also earned a PhD in clinical epidemiology and health care research through the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation at the University of Toronto. His doctoral work focused on enhancing Ontario Health\u2019s standardized symptom assessment program using a multi-methods approach that combined population-level data, patient and caregiver perspectives, and machine learning methods.<\/p>\n
Dr. Noel\u2019s clinical practice focuses on the management of head and neck cancers, thyroid and salivary gland disease, cutaneous malignancies, and microvascular reconstruction, with additional expertise in transoral robotic surgery. Academically, he is a recent recipient of the UHN Canada Leads Early Career Researcher Award His research program focuses on modernizing symptom assessment, integrating large language models (LLMs) into clinical workflows to generate real-time insights, and leveraging population data to guide value-based adoption of new technologies.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
