Dr. William Hogg is a family physician and professor in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Ottawa. He holds the Research Chair in Primary Healthcare with a focus on healthy living and is the senior research advisor at the C.T Lamont Primary Healthcare Research Centre at the Élisabeth Bruyère Research Institute. He is the executive director of the Canadian Primary Healthcare Research and Innovation Network. Dr. Hogg's current research includes the IDOCC Program, which is a regional program designed to assist primary healthcare providers in the Champlain District to improve the delivery of evidence-based prevention and management strategies for patients with heart disease, stroke and diabetes within their practice. Dr. Hogg has received numerous awards for his work in family medicine and health services research including being named Canada's Family Medicine Researcher of the Year by the College of Family Physicians in 2006. His overall grant funding totals over $50 million and he has been an author on over 200 refereed articles. <\/p>\n
When not busy doing research Dr. Hogg is the drummer in a doctor's rock and roll band that over a thirty year period has earned $2,500,000 for charities in the Ottawa area.
