Dr. Kiran is an associate scientist at the Li Ka Shing Knowledge Institute of St. Michael’s Hospital, vice-chair in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Toronto, and an adjunct scientist at ICES. She works as a family physician at the St. Michael’s Hospital Academic Family Health Team (FHT) where she is also the director of the Quality Improvement (QI) Program and chair of the FHT Board of Directors.<\/p>\n
Dr. Kiran’s research focuses on understanding the impact of primary reforms on quality of primary care and health inequalities. Her research has evaluated the impact of physician financial incentives on cancer screening and diabetes care. She is currently assessing the impact of new primary care models in Ontario on quality of care and healthcare utilization. Dr. Kiran also hopes to use her role as a clinician and researcher to test interventions to improve quality of care and assess whether high quality primary care can reduce health inequalities.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
