The study, &#x201c;<a href=\"\/publications\/journal-articles\/quality-indicators-of-end-of-life-care-in-patients-with-cancer-what-rate-is-right\/\">Quality indicators of end-of-life care in patients with cancer: what rate is right?<\/a>&#x201d; was led by ICES senior adjunct scientist <a>Dr. Lisa Barbera<\/a>. ICES adjunct scientist&#xa0;<a href=\"\/ices-scientists\/hsien-seow\/\">Dr. Hsien Yeang Seow<\/a> and ICES senior scientist&#xa0;<a href=\"\/ices-scientists\/rinku-sutradhar\/\">Dr. Rinku Sutradhar<\/a> were co-authors. <\/p>\n<p>Each year, the Canadian Cancer Society selects 10 publications that demonstrate the reach of cancer research across Canada and the best of what science can achieve. The chosen ICES study, published in the <a href=\"http:\/\/jop.ascopubs.org\/content\/11\/3\/e279.full?sid=da2f59b3-115e-4b46-a27b-3c580e7c9fe1\" title=\"Link to external website of the Journal of Oncology opens in new window\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Journal of Oncology Practice<\/a>, found significant variation in quality of end-of-life care provided to patients from 33 regions across four provinces in Canada.
