ICES adjunct scientist Gillian Hawker has been appointed chair of the Department of Medicine at the University of Toronto for a five-year term effective July 1, 2014.<\/p>\n

Dr. Hawker is also a senior scientist at the Women’s College Research Institute and physician-in-chief of the Department of Medicine at Women’s College Hospital where she holds the F.M. Hill Chair in Academic Women’s Medicine. She is widely recognized for her contributions to osteoarthritis research.<\/p>\n
