ICES senior core scientist Moira Kapral<\/a> has been appointed as Chair, Department of Medicine at the University of Toronto (UofT). She will also concurrently serve as the Sir John and Lady Eaton Chair of Medicine. In addition to her roles as professor and Director, Division of General Internal Medicine at UofT, Dr. Kapral is a physician, the Lillian Love Chair in Women\u2019s Health and Director of the Women\u2019s Health Program at the University Health Network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While not on the wards, Dr. Kapral performs research aimed at reducing healthcare disparities. Her research foci include women\u2019s health and cardiovascular disorders. Dr. Kapral is recognized for her stroke health services research. She has held over $20 million in grant funding and has over 250 publications in peer-reviewed literature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
