  • National Aboriginal Achievement Indspire Award

    2012: Awarded to Dr. Janet Smylie in the field of health. The awards recognize Indigenous professionals and youth who demonstrate outstanding career achievement.

  • CIHR New Investigator Award

    2012-2014: Awarded to Dr. Irfan Dhalla for "A virtual ward to reduce readmissions after hospital discharge."

  • CIHR New Investigator Award

    2012-2017: Awarded to Dr. Geoffrey Nguyen for "Clinical management and long-term outcomes of venous thromboembolism in inflammatory bowel disease: a population-based assesment."

  • Prostate Cancer Canada Movember Clinician Scientist Award

    2012: A two-year award to Dr. Girish Kulkarni for the project "Biopsy avoidance in patients at risk for prostate cancer and in patients with low risk prostate cancer: developing tools for personalized medicine."

  • Award for Excellence in Teaching

    2012: Awarded to Dr. Susan Brogly by the Boston University School of Public Health for teaching in infectious disease epidemiology.

  • Heart & Stroke Foundation New Investigator Competition - Distinguished Clinician Scientist Award

    2012-2017: Awarded to Dr. Gustavo Saposnik for "Efficacy of virtual reality exercises using Wii gaming technology in stroke rehabilitation: a multicentre randomized clinical trial (EVEREST multicentre)".

  • Canadian Association of Psychosocial Oncology Award for Educational Excellence

    2006: Awarded to Dr. Doris Howell for her leadership role in the development of Pan-Canadian clinical practice guidelines for the management of physical symptoms and emotional distress in cancer.

  • Canadian Child Health Clinician Scientist Program, Career Development Award

    2012-2016: Awarded to Eric Benchimol

  • Canadian Dermatology Foundation New Investigator Award

    2012: Awarded to Dr. An-Wen Chan

  • Canadian Society of Internal Medicine New Investigator Award

    2012: Awarded to Dr. Irfan Dhalla for "A Virtual Ward to Improve Post-Hospital Care." The award is offered by the Canadian Society of Internal Medicine in recognition of excellence in the field of internal medicine research by a young investigator.
