  • Ontario Early Researcher Award

    2019: Dr. Charles de Mestral was awarded $190,000 over five years for the project "Regional Foot Care and Amputation Prevention Pathways for All Ontarians." The award is funded by the Ontario Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade.

  • Junior Investigator Award

    2019: Awarded to Dr. Amy Yu by the Department of Medicine, Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre

  • Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada Ontario Clinician Scientist Phase II Award

    2019: Awarded to Dr. Rick Swartz. Clinician-scientist awardees have demonstrated a commitment to building an influential program of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular health research relevant to the foundation’s mission.

  • American Heart Association Vivien Thomas Young Investigator Award finalist

    2018: Dr. Louise Sun is a finalist for the Vivien Thomas Young Investigator Award. The award acknowledges the accomplishments of early career investigator members of the Council on Cardiovascular Surgery and Anesthesia (CVSA) who are focusing on fundamental and applied surgical research.
